Dirty Water Flowers
Flowers that release substances into the water, making it “dirty” and shortening the vase life of other flowers. Use a flower conditioner with these to help them last longer.
Dead Heading
The act of pinching or cutting off spent flowers to encourage new growth and keep arrangements looking fresh.
Vase Life
How long a cut flower will last in a vase with proper care.
Strip
Like stripping clothes, this means removing unnecessary leaves from the stem to keep water clean and improve flower longevity.
Conditioning
After flowers are cut, they are placed in water with nutrients for a period of time to acclimate and extend vase life.
